In Mrs. Horowitz’s class, we made structures we wanted to stay up in an earthquake from spaghetti sticks and marshmallows. We learned about earthquakes and how they can destroy structures. We found out the stronger the base and the sturdier the structure, the longer it lasted in the earthquake. Not all groups succeeded, but we learned it’s ok to make mistakes, because that’s how scientists learn.

Math in Ms. Wilson's Kindergarten!
We used number bonds to find the missing number!
“I know I need 3 more to make 4 because I had 4 and put down
1 finger and now I have 3. That’s how I made 4.” -Kayla D.
“I started with 5 and took 2 away and had 3 left to make 5.”
-Karli V.
“3 is missing. I know why 3 is missing because 3 and 3 make
6.” -Juniper
“I had 6 on my fingers. I took 1 away and had 5, so I am
missing 5.” -Madison
