Mrs. Brinkley's 5th Graders Create Division Projects!

“In math class, we are doing a project called design a theatre. Every person works with a partner. There is a few sheets of paper full of work! But the fun part was to actually design your own theatre! That was my favorite part. My partner had some really good ideas. Our theatre was called In the Sky! We made high-tech seats, some “get your tickets” booths, and tasty food. Overall, it was the best math project I’ve ever done in 5th grade so far!”

Mrs. Bohac's Class Learns About Wind!

Today we learned about wind. We made windsocks. – Cody J.

We saw how the wind blew harder when we weren’t in front of the building. The building blocked the wind. –Tucker H.

We measured how windy it was with the windsocks. They are a tool. Kennedy I.

Windsocks are used at airports. L.T. and T.P

You can use windsocks outside, or you can use them inside. If you use them inside, you can use a fan or a blow dryer to make them move. Tucker H.

In Mrs. Ramirez’s 5th grade science class, we were exploring thermal energy. We built “koozies” out of materials such as Styrofoam, aluminum foil, cotton, and air. We poured hot water in the small cup and measured the temperature in the beginning, after 5 minutes, and after 10 minutes. We learned that the “koozie” with the highest temperature in the end was the best insulator of heat.    –Syon A.
