In
Mrs. Ramirez’s 5th grade science class, we were exploring thermal
energy. We built “koozies” out of materials such as Styrofoam, aluminum foil,
cotton, and air. We poured hot water in the small cup and measured the
temperature in the beginning, after 5 minutes, and after 10 minutes. We learned
that the “koozie” with the highest temperature in the end was the best
insulator of heat. –Syon A.
